a long day

Yesterday was a very productive day for a change. I got a delivery of some beads i ordered and at the same time found a big box of old vintage beads i had tucked away and forgot about. As soon as i opened my big box of beads i just cracked on making some wee bracelets and before i knew it i had been working away all day and had made five!! As you can see from the pictures i have a bit of a thing for turquoise. I have already listed one on etsy yesterday and will be listing the others over the next few days. As for today, it was another lazy sunday.....isn't that the best way to spend a weekend?

Woke up this morning to this wee furball lying next to my face...isn't she cute? After much persuasion from my friend i headed into town to meet her and do a wee spot of window shopping. I avoid town as much as i possibly can during festival time. Not only does it take 3 times as long to actually get into town at this time of year, once you get there you can barely get to the end of the street without some numpty forcing a flyer in your hand for some ridiculous show you would never have any intention of going to see. No wonder the rainforest is disappearing at such a rate....it's all being used to make bloody flyers for the edinburgh festival shows!!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I am currently trying to keep out of Edinburgh city centre due to the festival - it's crazy - so here i am. I am also an ETSY seller so making and listing is keeping me busy anyway. Here is my shop if you would like a wee peek: http://tattiebogle.etsy.com/

I visited Hermitage castle at the weekend. It's a notorious castle in scotland due to it's bloody past and strange atmosphere. It's just near the scottish/english border and boy does this place creep me out. There are legends that a previous owner called De Soulis haunts this place. legend has it in the 14th century he was wrapped in lead and boiled alive due to his black magic dabblings on the hill which overlooks the castle. It has a really oppresive atmosphere and even on a hot sunny day the castle is freezing and dull.Thought i'd share my photo's of the place

whilst i was there i thought i'd also check out the story of there being a face carved into the stonework on one of the windows. Several years ago when the castle was getting stuctural work done the work men refused to work alone in the castle because of the atmosphere and because they said a face on the wall kept watching them. I heard that it was not noticeable all the time, and that sometimes it looks just like a lump of stone, however after searching for about half an hour for it, it suddenly just seemed to appear. Right enough, it looks exactly like a face, however when i later went back to get another picture, it was barely distinguishable. Strange
